About Briarcliff Elementary

Briarcliff is a small elementary school with 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Located on the southwest edge of North Kansas City Schools, our population includes students living in our adjacent neighborhood communities, as well as students from the city of North Kansas City. High achievement, rich diversity and strong community involvement are hallmarks of Briarcliff.

On state and local assessments we continue to perform above state and district averages in math and communication arts. Our workshop approach to instruction in most content areas help us maintain this growth by meeting the unique needs of all students. We work to assess where students are and adjust instruction to help all students grow.

Our PTA and local residents ensure that our school continues to be the heart of our community with the neighborhood trails and a veggie patch, both supported and enjoyed by our local residents and our students. While the Briarcliff community is over fifty years old, recent re-greening, strong neighborhood associations, and a small retail development make this a desirable community.

Thanks to the support of district residents in June of 2020, Briarcliff Elementary underwent significant renovations during 2021-2022 and reopened to students for the 2022-2023 school year. Additions included a brand-new gym and classroom wing, providing modern learning spaces for our growing community.

Briarcliff Elementary is a safe and respectful community that fosters student achievement and an enthusiasm for learning for all!
